White House Wine
White wine, although not as complex in flavour and effect on the pallet, has become a particular favourite of the British public. Often combined with soda or water or ice, white wine has emerged as the fashionable drink for women of all ages. This popularity means it is now important to have a rough idea of the selections when out and about with pals.
Sweet, Medium or dry White Wine..
Similarly to red wine, house whites are also distinguished by three categories – sweet, medium and dry – however the sparse selection of different varieties make it a lot easier to evaluate them individually. Chardonnay for instance, is a very popular wine, and often reasonable priced. Often compacted with a fruity, almost citrus like taste, this wine is the perfect company for a selection of appetisers on a spring afternoon. Sauvignon Blanc, is traditionally a medium wine, originating in the French valleys but also popular in the vineyards of New Zealand. This wine harbours an uplifting taste with an acidic undertone. Other frequently displayed white wine includes; Pinot Grigio, Chenin Blanc and Semillon, all offering there own unique flavours.
Rose Wine
A wine that has recently become increasingly popular, especially during the warm summer months, is Rose wine. House wine of this variety is usually dominated by market leaders Blossom Hill and Jacob’s creek, both offering a very similar taste of July and August, in a reasonably priced bottle.
